2023
By 2030, we want our operations and supply chain to make a positive contribution to sustainability.
Operations with impact
Our aim is to have positive contributions from our operations and supply chain that abide by the principles of resource efficiency and circularity. It is crucial for us to have suppliers that are aware of our expectations and requirements regarding their sustainability performance. By working together with our supply chain partners, we can ensure that our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our company and into our wider value chain.

Our aim is to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals:
Outcome 2023
Carbon reduction
Nearly reaching our 2030 target thanks to great efforts made across all our sites to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and make our processes more efficient.
51%
Absolute reduction in our own operations (Scope 1 & 2) compared to base year 2013
Water withdrawal reduction
We increased our consumption of water due to a cooling system consistently left running and a pipeline leakage.
+2%
Absolute volume of water compared to base year 2020
Waste
Due to the event of a fire at our site in Goa, India, we increased the amount of waste sent to landfill. Excluding the waste from the fire, we reduced our waste sent to landfill by over 800 metric tons due to efforts at our sites to measure and redirect waste toward circular solutions or recycling.
3,063
Metric tons sent to landfill
Renewable energy use
We increased by 2%-pts compared to 2022, due to switching to renewable electricity.
58%
Raw material suppliers
We nearly reached this target due to engaging our key suppliers and continuing the dialogue regarding environmental, social and governance performance.

Efficient resource-use
Managing our resources in the most efficient way requires a holistic approach, assessing our processes, the equipment we use, and a reliable way of measuring and reporting data. Many of our raw materials that we source are both limited and can be hazardous when mishandled, which is why it’s been on our agenda since before sustainability was a well-known term.
Supply chain sustainability
It’s no secret that we rely on our suppliers to join us on our sustainability journey to both mitigate negative impacts and create a positive social and environmental impact. This requires due diligence, relationship-building with our suppliers, and ongoing dialogue around our material topics. Read about how our ‘Chain Up!’ program supports our ambition.
2023 Sustainability Award: Operations with Impact
Brigitte Vaccaro, Pascal Gentile, Adeline Roblin, Saifeddine Bergaoui, Didier Delorme, Julien Enjolras, and Anne-Eva Noyel were awarded for their work in implementing the FRET21 program. FRET21, an initiative supported by a French governmental partnership, focuses on reducing emissions in transportation logistics. The team’s efforts at our Montbrison site have not only achieved significant emission reductions but have also transformed the principles of FRET21 into concrete, measurable results, and the beginning of an action plan. Their dedication to collaborating with our suppliers to transition to PUR-XTL fuel has been instrumental in reducing the overall environmental footprint and setting an example for the industry.
