Sustainability governance at Beckers
Since we established our sustainability governance structure in 2021, it has proven effective in driving our long-term strategy. In 2024, we strengthened our sustainability governance by appointing a Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), complementing the Beckers Sustainability Council (BSC), the global cross-functional leadership team, and the pillar-specific sustainability teams to further steer and accelerate progress toward our 2030 Goals. This formal governance framework integrates sustainability across all functions, ensuring a direct connection between our sites and global management.
Our Executive Committee is our highest body that oversees the implementation of our sustainability strategy and business performance. The BSC, which reports to the Global Support Committee and the Board of Directors, plays a key role in aligning sustainability with all business functions. Led by the Chief Sustainability Officer, it includes senior leaders from various disciplines who manage strategic frameworks, monitor KPIs, and oversee the strategic sustainability pillars—Products, People and Operations with Impact. The BSC also sets annual sustainability targets.
Supporting the BSC, the global teams supporting the strategic pillars focus on implementing sustainability actions at each site. Led by senior executives, these teams ensure alignment with our 2030 Goals and contribute to the Sustainability Contract – which is – our annual agreement with the Beckers Board of Directors that defines milestones toward our long-term objectives.
The CSO is a member of the Beckers Executive Committee (ExCo) and is responsible for ensuring that sustainability is an integral part of Beckers business. The CSO reports strategies, plans, targets and progress to the Executive Committee, the Global Support Committee (GSC) and the Board of Directors, with support from Sustainability Controlling team.
To track progress and ensure accountability, we use a Sustainability Target Catalogue, which forms the basis of our bonus system, and a Sustainability Dashboard that provides real-time visibility on key KPIs across all sites. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, all employees eligible for bonus payments must set sustainability goals linked to their work, to incentivize progress toward our sustainability targets.

At Beckers Group, our commitment to responsible business practices is guided by a set of key policies that shape how we operate. The Beckers Group Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct ensure ethical behavior across our business and supply chain, while our Beckers Sustainability Policy drives our efforts to reduce environmental impact and foster sustainable solutions.
We are dedicated to operational excellence and employee well-being through our Quality, Environment, Health, Safety, and Energy Policy, which upholds high standards of quality, safety, and energy efficiency. Additionally, our Living Wage Policy ensures fair and equitable pay for all employees and contractors.
We are also proud to hold multiple ISO certifications, including ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 50001 (Energy), ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) at various sites.
These policies together form the framework that guides our actions and aligns our business goals with our commitment to sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility.

Double Materiality Assessment
We completed our Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) in 2024, which required involvement from both internal and external stakeholders. The DMA is a prerequisite for compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
We have conducted impact materiality assessments since 2013, which have provided a foundation for our 2030 Goals and strategy. This year was our first DMA, involving more internal stakeholders from Legal, Compliance, Finance, Sales, R&D, Operations and Procurement to bring their perspective on potential material topics and the financial impacts. The DMA is a foundation for our strategy, and will be a reiterative process as we further refine our 2030 Goals and our Green Lights Strategy in the years ahead.
